Positive vs. Humanistic Psychological Approaches to Coaching + 5 Questions
In the problem-solving application of Executive Coaching, there are multiple approaches that one can employ in the search for the solution to accomplish the client’s objectives. The humanistic approach is a qualitative analytical approach, one that is concerned with exploring the feelings, and the experience.
The positive psychological approach is one that empowers the client, and like the humanistic perspective, sees people as having good natures ultimately, and being in control of their destiny. Given a particular case scenario, it is important to know which perspective one is going to employ, or which perspectives one is going to alternate between.
