The introduction of Coaching, Performance Enhancement, and Transformational Leadership to the area of Training and Development is a fairly new concept. The initiatives that drive organizational, personal, and operational change derive from the Human Resources Management department. This happens in a well-oiled, properly segmented organization without the overly budget conscious tendency to overlap departments or omit the training and development, and HR processes altogether. In many organizations, sadly, training and development are no more than an earmark improperly conducted as a rote stack of papers handed out weekly, bi-weekly, or quarterly, followed by a signature, and magically, a person is supposed to be transformed. Sound familiar? I know, I’ve been there too.
